Rönesans sanatı Avrupa'da - Pagan retorik – Hümanizm : L.B Alberti - dini resimler - Evrensel armoni bir ayna : toplumsal armoni ve kozmik armoni

Renaissance art - This paper focuses on the development and the dissemination of Ciceronianism in Italy in the first half of the fifteenth century, not as much as a doctrine than as a characteristic pratice of writing, evidenced through the many humanists orationes that are preserved. The empirical study of the emergence of the so-called « classicist » oratory is a remarkably significant area of investigation, in order to analyze the expansion of the cultural model of the studia humanitatis. It was indeed both a trivialized tool of social distinction and a vector of institutional and ideological penetration. Three main research tracks are proposed. The first is the creation and the circulation of a common repertory through the multitude of manuscript compilations, generally referred to as « humanistic miscellanies », which normalized practice through practicing. The second is the concrete shaping of an oratorial matrix « in the manner of Cicero ». It can be generally described (stylistic effects and argumentative processes), while measuring the gap created between this matrix and the medieval traditions of Latin rhetoric. The third is the movement of infiltration of ciceronian practice into a variety of rhetorical spheres (such as preaching, diplomatic epistolography or academic ritual) by a more or less successful formal acclimatization. This infiltration also tended to introduce some topical constructions, that produced « common places » between socio-political institutions and humanistic culture. Two manuscripts are inventoried in the annex : the manuscript of Venice, Biblioteca Marciana, Lat. XI. 101 (3939) and the manuscript of the Vatican City, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Ottob. Lat. 3021. We also analyze a precise field of social life, the dance in the Italian Quattrocento, based on the references that are the first formal dance treatises (1445-1455). Choreographic art is there defined in its symbolic autonomy and we discover how the principles of Western dance were laid down. We present the analysis of the choreographic discourse drawn up in these treatises so as to set out its internal logic and recurrent principles, specific to the "techniques of the body" that is formal dancing, by underscoring how formal analysis is an heuristical approach in anthropology of art. In addition, we set out the hypothesis that a style of postures and gestures is a vehicle for meaning and a proof of the acquiring of a corporal habitus. In focussing on formal analysis and the underlying representations of social practice, we show precisely how this form of expression, in a given culture, in a given period, defines a science of know-how of the Quattrocento man, where what is at stake in society is reflected.

Through an analysis of the countless publications and exhibitions, both in Italy and elsewhere, dedicated to the Fra Angelico, this essay offers a survey of recent studies on the Dominican artist. The art of Fra Angelo, who was a pivotal figure in the shift from medieval to Renaissance, a Thomistic theologian who was at the same time an early interpreter of Albertian humanism, offers fertile ground for a plethora of research topics : questions of iconology and exegesis, related, for example to the complex scriptural and figurative structure of the Armadio degli Argenti ; studies on the visual sources of the artist’s synthesis of late-gothic refinement, the innovations of the Renaissance and emulation of the Giottesque model ; enquiries into his stylistic characteristics in order to update his catalogue of works and their chronology (as during the exhibitions in New York in 2005 and Rome in 2009), including the use of diagnostic technology such as infrared reflectography (for example, during restorations, most recently of the Tabernacle of the Linen Drapers) ; research on his production of drawings and miniatures ; and investigations into the resources provided by archival and other documents that throw light onto his activities in both Florence and Rome. Future studies on Fra Angelico will have to avoid the pitfalls of hyper-specialization by bringing together historical, formal, and iconographic elements in a well-informed, holistic approach, perfectly in harmony with the “density” of Fra Angelico’s painting.
